My name is Lisa and it's about time I told you all a little about myself and how my nail polish addiction developed.
Believe it or not, I used to be a die hard nail biter. This lasted into my pre-teen years until one day it kind of just snapped - I didn't want to have boyish, gnarly nails anymore so I started painting them. This was of benefit to me (and maybe something to consider for all you biters out there) because at least if I needed to fidget I could chip the polish instead of bite the nail. This isn't terribly good for your nails either, but I guess it's the lesser of the two evils.
In high school most of my friends lived too far from my house to visit after school so to pass the time on week nights (homework? what homework?) I would paint my nails. Eventually upon graduating I took a post-secondary baking course where you were not permitted to wear polish, and shortly after that I got a job at LUSH Handmade Cosmetics so my hands were constantly in water - not conducive to a beautifully manicured environment.
And then along came Ali. This beautiful creature was hired on at LUSH and brought my obsession back in a whirlwind of colour and pent up polish frustration. I no longer cared that my manicures would chip after 3 days because I wanted to re-do them every 2. From there I joined MakeupAlley and started frequenting nail blogs so I figured, why not me? This would be a fun way to show my friends and family what I do!
So here we are.
Other than nail polish I love: holidays and seasons, wine, cheese, tea, The Sims, Harry Potter, beer, LUSH (forever and always), crime television, nature walks, camping, the Food Network, animals, glitter, and essentially anything pre-dating the 80s.
